Wanna be a painter for a moment? Here are a few easy  ways to create a painting

You want to express your thoughts, your emotions and fillings or just make something different to have fun, but you have no idea how to do that?  Let us help you with this post. You don’t need to be talented as Picasso to paint something interesting, you just have to try to create your own masterpiece. Art seems like a good form of therapy in this case , so pick up a brush and don’t be afraid of being creative!

Try some of the easy  tutorials below and you’ll see that art and creativity will  find a way:

 Painting with Painter’s Tape

To do this you will need :

  • A canvas, any size
  • Acrylic paints
  • Scissors
  • A paintbrush (or a couple)
  • Painter’s tape
  • Something to use as a palette
  • A bowl of water to wash your brushes in61fe3686f46889a4c79a3fda8ff46f29

Take the paints and squeeze a quarter-size amount of each color on the palette. Using a wide brush, blend and switch between colors until you cover the whole canvas.  Don’t be shy,
experiment with strokes and splashes and create your masterpiece! After you’ve finished, let it dry. Now comes the hardest part- cut same-sized strips of painter’s tape and apply them to one side of the canvas in a staggered pattern. Leave an even amount of space between each strip and then cover the entire canvas with a layer of white paint, allow to fully dry and apply another coat, just in case. After the painting is completely dry, very carefully remove the strips of tape. Ta-Da, meet your  own unique masterpiece.

Painting with a Doily

To do this you will need:

  • Watercolors
  • A paintbrush
  • Doilies
  • Watercolor paper, card stock or white butcher paper for wrapping
  • A palette
  • A bowl of water to wash your brushes in

Using this technique, you can make gorgeous postcards for your friends or continue experimenting to create a full-scale painting. For starters place a doily anywhere on your paper as a stencil then pick a paint that is to your liking, mix it with a bit of water on a palette and Paint over the doily. Now just wait for a few minutes for it to dry and carefully peel the doily off. You can keep repeating this on other parts of the paper.

Painting with a Piece of Cardboard

To do this you will need:

  • Acrylic paints
  • A piece of cardboard
  • A canvas

Use paint tubes and draw abstract lines on your canvas, one after the other. Starting at the edge, pull your cardboard flap across the paint, with a bit of a scoop movement to make stylized waves. Re-drag the cardboard once or twice for a  marvelous  effect, or you can make a heart of the cardboard and apply it on the painting.

Painting with an Artist’s Spatula

To do this you will need:

  • A canvas
  • Acrylic paints
  • Gold leaf and sealer (optional)
  • An artist’s spatula

Randomly distribute globs of paint on the canvas. Choose your favorite colors, experiment! Spread the paint using the spatula. It’s a lot like spreading icing on a cake. Now add new coats of paint slowly, waiting for each of them to dry first — it’ll guarantee that your painting will come out bright and textured. Add the gold foil randomly into the wet paint. Lightly go over the edges with the spatula to make them seem more random.

When finished, let it dry, and enjoy your hand-made creation!

Painting with Glitter

To do this you will need:

  • A canvas
  • Acrylic paints
  • Gold foil flakes
  • A piece of cardboard
  • Liquid glue
  • Brushes
  • A palette
glitter_painting_by_nataliejb-d4yitiiFirst, you need to choose where on the canvas you want your foil flakes to be. Use a paintbrush to apply a thin layer of glue onto the canvas and sprinkle it with a thick layer of foil flakes and then wait for the glue to dry and add the second coat of glue. Now you pick the colors you want to use. Squeeze globs of paint directly onto the canvas and use pieces of cardboard to lightly stroke down the paint. Feel free to let it get a bit messy. Just keep layering the paint, blend when it’s wet, layer it when it’s dry and-  Oh my god you are done! Great! Enjoy in your masterpiece.

Painting with Bubbles

To do this you will need

  • Tempera paint
  • Dish soap
  • Water
  • Bowls
  • Drinking straws
  • White paper

Mix two tablespoons of tempera paint with two tablespoons of dish soap and 1/2 cup of water in a shallow bowl and then insert a drinking straw into the mixture. Blow into it until the bowl’s surface is covered in bubbles. Lay a piece of plain white paper across the bowl. The bubbles will pop, leaving beautiful prints on the paper. Let it dry. Play with the size and color of your bubbles, let your imagination do the work.

Splash Watercolor Painting

To do this you will need:

  • Watercolors
  • A palette
  • Paintbrushes
  • A bowl of water to wash your brushes in
  • A little wooden stick
  • Watercolor paper
  • A mister

Pick your paints and mix them on the palette. Mist the paper with water a bit, dip the brush into the paint, take a wooden stick and knock on it with a brush so that paint leaves delicate splashes on the paper. Repeat this with other colors, and now the fun begins! Take the mister and pull the trigger! You’d think that you just ruined a perfectly good painting, but wait till it dries.

Painting with Wax Crayons and a Hairdryer

To do this you will need:

  • A canvas
  • Wax crayons
  • A hairdryer
  • Hot glue

Glue crayons to one side of the canvas, choose any colors you like. We recommend placing similar shades next to each other. Pick up a hair dryer, turn it on and direct the hot air on the pencils, until they begin to melt. You’ll see bright little ’rivers’ starting to flow, creating a unique work of art.
